A savory traditional Japanese tea containing Green tea and roasted brown rice .
Legend says that once a slave mistakenly dropped some rice into his samurai masters tea as it was brewing . Unfortunately this cost the slave his life but as the master realized he was delighted with the taste he named the tea ” Genmaicha” in honor of the deceased man.
