Butterfly Blue Origami Canister
This Japanese tea canister is originally designed to hold approximately 200g of leaf tea, specifically sencha or green tea. The actual amount of leaf tea the canister will hold depends very much on the type of tea. A bulkier tea such as a herbal tea with buds and fruit pieces will fill the tea tin with less weight.
Sometimes called origami canisters, even though the paper isn’t folded at all, these Japanese tea canisters are hand wrapped in beautiful chiyogami papers. Made from mulberry trees, the washi paper is very durable, so you can use them every day in the kitchen without worrying too much about damaging the paper.
These Japanese tea tins are beautiful for all kinds of kitchen storage including tea leaves, coffee, dried herbs and spices.
The pretty washi paper tins also make great gift packaging for small gifts like jewellery or sweets.
Both the steel tea tin and PET plastic lid are fully recyclable.
The washi paper is durable for every day use in the kitchen. Spot clean only with a soft dry, or very lightly dampened cloth. Do not wash in water.
